The Artemis 2 mission launch has been delayed until at least April due to issues with the rocket's upper stage.

NASA is now looking at an April launch at the earliest for Artemis II, its first crewed lunar flyby in more than 50 years.

The Artemis II lunar fly-around — the first trip to the moon in more than 50 years — is off until at least April, the Associated Press reported.

NASA on Friday announced an abrupt change to its pathway to getting astronauts back on the lunar surface, opting to add in an additional crewed test flight before attempting to land.

But the additional mission gives NASA more practice launching its rocket and allows the agency and its partners to collect additional data as they finalize moon-landing hardware.
